Bobby was getting cold sitting out in his back yard in the snow. Bobby didn’t wear boots; he didn’t like them and anyway he didn’t own any. The thin sneakers he wore had a few holes in them and they did a poor job of keeping out the cold.

Bobby had been in his backyard for about an hour already. And, try as he might, he could not come up with an idea for his mother’s Christmas gift. He shook his head as he thought, “This is useless, even if I do come up with an idea, I don’t have any money to spend.”

Ever since his father had passed away three years ago, the family of five had struggled. It wasn’t because his mother didn’t care, or try, there just never seemed to be enough. She worked nights at the hospital, but the small wage that she was earning could only be stretched so far.

What the family lacked in money and material things, they more than made up for in love and family unity. Bobby had two older and one younger sister, who ran the household in their mother’s absence.

All three of his sisters had already made beautiful gifts for their mother. Somehow it just wasn’t fair. Here it was Christmas Eve already, and he had nothing.

Wiping a tear from his eye, Bobby kicked the snow and started to walkdown to the street where the shops and stores were. It wasn’t easy being six without a father, especially when he needed a man to talk to.

Bobby walked from shop to shop, looking into each decorated window. Everything seemed so beautiful and so out of reach. It was starting to get dark and Bobby reluctantly turned to walk home when suddenly his eyes caught the glimmer of the setting sun’s rays reflecting off of something along the curb. He reached down and discovered a shiny dime.

Never before has anyone felt so wealthy as Bobby felt at that moment. As he held his new found treasure, a warmth spread throughout his entire body and he walked into the first store he saw. His excitement quickly turned cold when salesperson after salesperson told him that he could not buy anything with only a dime.

He saw a flower shop and went inside to wait in line. When the shop owner asked if he could help him, Bobby presented the dime and asked if he could buy one flower for his mother’s Christmas gift. The shop owner looked at Bobby and his ten cent offering. Then he put his hand on Bobby’s shoulder and said to him, “You just wait here and I’ll see what I can do for you.”

As Bobby waited, he looked at the beautiful flowers and even though he was a boy, he could see why mothers and girls liked flowers. The sound of the door closing as the last customer left, jolted Bobby back to reality. All alone in the shop, Bobby began to feel alone and afraid.

Suddenly the shop owner came out and moved to the counter. There, before Bobby’s eyes, lay twelve long stem, red roses, with leaves of green and tiny white flowers all tied together with a big silver bow. Bobby’s heart sank as the owner picked them up and placed them gently into a long white box.

“That will be ten cents young man.” the shop owner said reaching out his hand for the dime. Slowly, Bobby moved his hand to give the man his dime. Could this be true? No one else would give him a thing for his dime! Sensing the boy’s reluctance, the shop owner added, “I just happened to have some roses on sale for ten cents a dozen. Would you like them?”

This time Bobby did not hesitate, and when the man placed the long box into his hands, he knew it was true. Walking out the door that the owner was holding for Bobby, he heard the shopkeeper say, “Merry Christmas, son.”

As he returned inside, the shopkeeper’s wife walked out. “Who were you talking to back there and where are the roses you were fixing?” Staring out the window, and blinking the tears from his own eyes, he replied, “A strange thing happened to me this morning. While I was setting up things to open the shop, I thought I heard a voice telling me to set aside a dozen of my best roses for a special gift. I wasn’t sure at the time whether I had lost my mind or what, but I set them aside anyway. Then just a few minutes ago, a little boy came into the shop and wanted to buy a flower for his mother with one small dime.

When I looked at him, I saw myself, many years ago. I too was a poor boy with nothing to buy my mother a Christmas gift. A bearded man, whom I never knew, stopped me on the street and told me that he wanted to give me ten dollars. When I saw that little boy tonight, I knew who that voice was, and I put together a dozen of my very best roses.”

The shop owner and his wife hugged each other tightly, and as they stepped out into the bitter cold air, they somehow didn’t feel cold at all.

Prosperity

“I deserve the best, and I accept the best, now.”

If you want the above affirmation to be true for you, then you DO NOT want to believe any of the following statements:

Money doesn’t grow on trees.

Rich people are crooks.

I will never get a good job.

I will never make any money.

Money goes out faster than it comes in.

I am always in debt.

Poor people can never get out from under.

My parents are poor, and I will be poor.

Only people who cheat have money.

Save for a rainy day.

Money only comes from hard work.

How many of this beliefs belong to you? Do you really think that believing any of them will bring you prosperity?

It is old limited thinking. Perhaps it was what your family believed about money, because family beliefs stay with us unless we consciously release them. Wherever it came from, it must leave your consciousness if you want to prosper.

To me, true prosperity begins with feeling good about yourself. It is also the freedom to do what you want to do, when you want to do it. It is never an amount of money; it is a state of mind.

If we do not accept the idea that we ‘deserve’ to prosper, then even when abundance falls in our laps, we will refuse it somehow. Look at this example :

A student was working to increase his prosperity. He came to class one night so excited, for he had just won $500. He kept saying, “I don’t believe it! I never win anything.” It was a reflection of his changing consciousness. He still felt he did not really deserve it. Following week he couldn’t come to class, as he had broken his leg. The doctor bills came to $500!

He had been frightened to “move forward” in a new “prosperous direction” and felt undeserving, so he punished himself in this way. Whatever we concentrate on increases, so don’t concentrate on your bills. If you concentrate on lack and debt, then you will create more lack and debt!

There is an inexhaustible supply in the Universe. Begin to be aware of it. Be grateful for what you do have, and you will find that it increases. Our own belief in lack and limitation is the only thing that is limiting us. What belief is limiting you?

Be sure you are not rejecting prosperity now. Keep the flow of things moving through you. This way, you let the Universe know you are ready to receive your good.

Just take care of your own thoughts. Bless another’s good fortune, and know there’s plenty for all. Begin to recognize prosperity everywhere, and rejoice in it. Rejoice in the abundance of being able to awaken each morning and experience a new day.

You can see your destiny, you have been placed here on this earth to make a significant difference for good. You will accomplish your goal. It is pre-ordained and it must happen. You may have difficulties on your journey, but fear not because you will be watched over and guided. Resonate with this thought for a while. Dear reader, you have the power right now to bring into being anything you want. I am not being mystical…..I just know. We all have the power but unfortunately most of do not use it. We just don’t seem to believe it, we don’t seem to have faith in it. But it’s there…..kind of floating around inside and all around you right now!!!

Looking back on the early days when the seed of a dream was planted in my mind by my dearest husband to start internet marketing…..I had spent a great deal of time trying to find motivation from within me to start. I am a stay at home mother of five kids and with zero ability on the internet. The line of people who advised me to not start the internet marketing were extensive and formidable. Yet….something inside me kept urging me forward, besides the motivation and encouragement from my husband. I can’t explain it. All I remember is that I KNEW I COULD DO IT. It continued to plague me until I just couldn’t stand it any longer. I knew there was a way to do this AND create a better life for me and my family.

Eight months have passed since the beginning of that dream. Mistakes and set-backs happened - some were quite severe - but failure was never an option. I didn’t quit. My husband encouraged me to keep my mind on track and to keep looking forward. A valuable lesson learned is that take time to listen and learn from the many accomplished individuals who already traveled through the “school of hard-knocks”.

I was blessed with mentors who came into my life, foremost being my husband. Some of the feedback wasn’t easy to hear, but it led me in the right direction. We enter the world as babies. Babies crawl, walk and…..falls down. They learn from experiences before they begin again. You too must crawl, walk, fall down…many times in some cases, to achieve you goals.

If you have a passion, a dream, a genuine desire to make matters better…..then seriously apply these guides to your inner being:

1. Don’t ever give up.
2. Do whatever it takes to stay motivated, read, listen to tapes, change your thinking, put reminders around you, meditate and pray.
3. If it isn’t working…then try another path.
4. Find a loving mentor.
5. Follow your own gut-feelings.
6. Be charitable, be kind.
7. Have the right intentions.

Life is full of choices. “Trying” is not an action or a result. You either DO or DON’T DO something. You either decide to change your life or you don’t. You either complete your goals or you don’t. No matter what you may have been told, success in life is hard work and does not come without sacrifice. You will make wrong choices and experience setbacks. Some will be minor, some maybe substantial. But that’s OK.

See it, say it, be it. Use the power of visualization and affirmations to speed up your goal-making process. Two of the most powerful tools available to mankind are positive visualizations and positive affirmations. And these tools are free!
